During my time in Hamburg, Germany, I spent months photographing people living on the streets.
At first, I was surprised to see homelessness in a country with such wealth and resources. But the more time I spent with people, the more I realized that homelessness is never just one story.
Many had come from different countries, carrying experiences of migration, hardship, loss, and uncertainty. Some had lost their homes; others had lost the sense of belonging that makes a place feel like home.
I travelled through several European countries and encountered similar realities—people living on the margins, searching for stability, dignity, and a place to belong.
These photographs are from that time in Germany. They are not an attempt to define anyone’s life, but simply moments from the lives of people I met, listened to, and came to know.
This is the other side of home.
