Rakher Upobas: A Sacred Hindu Fasting Festival in Bangladesh.
Rakher Upobas, also known as Kartik Brati, is a traditional Hindu fasting ritual observed in Bangladesh, particularly at the Shri Shri Loknath Brahmachari Ashram in Barodi, Narayanganj. Devotees fast and light lamps (prodip) in the evenings during the month of Kartik (usually November) to seek blessings for their family’s health and for spiritual purification.
